Christopher Pernice is a Long Island based architect who specializes in full architectural services for luxury single family residential homes, to interior design of five-star restaurants, to design architect for boutique hospitality projects. Christopher strives to create architectural responses as reactions to site context and the individual program of the client’s needs.
Registered Architect State of New York & NCARB Certified
Christopher graduated in 2005 from Virginia Tech’s College of Architecture's prestigious BArch program. Known for its consistent rank in the top 10 undergrad architecture programs by Design Intelligence, Christopher received an intensive studio education focused around the development of strong architectural concepts.
Throughout college, Christopher interned at Barnes Coy Architects, a small residential boutique firm in Hamptons, New York, that focused primarily around modern high end residences. Christopher obtained an amazing hands-on learning opportunity at this firm, and that experience led him to continue his work for Barnes Coy after he graduated college. The firm then offered him a position in Vail, Colorado where he was a design architect for a large retail and residential building in the heart of the Vail Village. Christopher took quickly to the Rocky Mountain vernacular, utilizing the use of classic stone, timber, and metal elements in a modern approach. This contextual response to site continues to facilitate the generation of much of Christopher’s architectural work today.
After completion of work in Vail, Christopher relocated back to New York where he honed his design and management skills as Director of Interior Architecture to an award winning Hamptons based architecture firm, Blaze Makoid Architecture. Christopher led a small team of architects in the design of architectural interior fit, finishes, equipment and furnishings for high-end residential vacation homes.
Christopher also worked as Production Manager at a boutique interior design firm called Beth Donner Design, specializing in restaurants, catering and hospitality. There he was in charge of project scheduling, resource management & budgeting, CAD standards and quality control.
Currently Christopher is Project Manager for Bouler Pfluger Architects where he has the opportunity to work on projects ranging from small additions/renovations to high-end residential new construction from design to completion.
Christopher resides in Smithtown, New York where he enjoys spending time with his wife, son and dog…and surfing when he gets the chance.
